The picture shows the cover of this 1872 Booklet Entitled: Mose Skinner's Grand World's Jubilee And Humstrum Convulsion. First let me say that this booklet is interesting and of historic nature. I thought it worthy of listing even though has tattered edges, creasing throughout, a few loose pages, a few spots on the back, and no back cover. The booklet has (22) pages full of stories and small illustrations that relate to Boston, Massachusetts.

One nice thing about this booklet is the cover. There is an image of a Popcorn or concession building next to a Coliseum. Please remember that this booklet was made 130 years ago at the begining of baseball history, and the earliest days of Cracker Jack. The image has six different country flags flying above the Coliseum, The Statehouse in the background, two black cats on the roof, and a man carrying a bass.

Another interesting fact about this booklet is that because of the cover, this very one is pictured and featured in a scholarly written book on the History of pop corn entitled: "POPPED CULTURE - A SOCIAL HISTORY OF POPCORN IN AMERICA" ©1999 by Andrew F. Smith (see second picture). The book is not included here. The pictured cover and page is only shown for reference only.

There are a few advertisement in the booklet including one for photographs and ferrotypes at the Boston Tintype Gallery and one advertising shirts from Farr, Hatch, & Company. Just quickly glancing through the booklets there are mentions of: Faneuil Hall, The State House, Many Different Boston Locations, The Cape Cod Gazette, Small Pox, Boston Harbor, Queen Victoria, The Prince Of Wales, Horace Greeley, Cigar Store Indians, Buffalo Bill, President Grant, and much, much more...

It was published in 1872 by The New England News Company of Boston and printed by Warren Richardson. It measures 4-5/8" x 7-1/4". The condition is rough as mentioned above, but it is complete.
