The pictures show views of this 1940s Wildwood New Jersey Occupied Japan Souvenir Celluloid Alligator. It is not dated but was made shortly after World War II. This toy may have been purchased as a souvenir on the boardwalk or one of the piers. It could have been won at one of the many games, or won as a prize from an old arcade crane machine. It is made of painted celluloid. It is hollow and the inside can be seen through the open mouth. It is marked on the tail and bottom as follows:

WILDWOOD, N.J.
ORIENTAL (on logo)
MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN

The alligator or crocodile measures 7-1/4'' long. It is in near mint to mint condition as pictured. Below here is some reference information found online for Wildwood:

The Wildwoods
''Always fun and exciting, the Wildwoods have lived up to their reputation as a pop culture icon for generations. This venerable Jersey Shore institution is renowned for its 1950s ''Doo-Wop'' architecture, where the happy-go-lucky attitude of the 50's reigns. Families trek the two miles of boardwalk in ultimate bliss, enjoying carnival games, souvenir shops, food stands, water parks, roller coasters and five amusement piers! Composed of North Wildwood, Wildwood and Wildwood Crest, this five mile stretch of white ocean beaches have been voted among the best in the country by the Travel Channel.''
