The picture below shows a larger view of this Unused ©1955 IT Came From Beneath The Sea Movie Advertising Ad Mat Mold. The ad mat is not dated but it is from 1955 when this movie was made. This is a mold in which lead is poured into create a thin metal negative image that is then mounted on a wooden block for printing. Advertising is no longer being made or printed like this.

The ad mat is like miniature 3-D poster and would look nice framed, or you could still use it and make print blocks from it. The print block would have been used to print on movie pages in newspapers, in magazines, or in the movie theater programs. It is made of a thick compressed paper board. This admat has the title, actors names, and an image of the octopus looking creature attacking buildings, cars, and people. It is marked as follows:

IT CAME FROM BENEATH THE SEA
A TIDAL WAVE OF TERROR ENGULFS THE SCREEN!

The ad mat measures about 4-15/16'' x 3-11/16''. It appears to be in mint unused condition as pictured.
