| | | The picture shows a front and back view of this Old United States Navy Sailor Destroyer Base Photo Identification Badge. The badge is not dated, but judging by the Sailor's birth year (1914) we estimate this ID badge being from the early to mid 1930s. The badge pictures and has information for a James P. Cook. On the back is a thumb print. The badge has a metal frame, a green transparent covering, and a paper identification card. The card has typed information and is signed by the Sailor and a validating Officer. There is no pin section on the back but there is an imprint and rust line where it once was. The metal frame has recessed lettering and it reads as follows: U. S. DESTROYER BASE U. S. RECEIVING STATION The badge measures about 3-1/16'' x 2-1/16''. It appears to be in excellent used condition with a missing pin section as mentioned and pictured. |
