The pictures show views of the 1945 General George S. Patton Letter to Third Army Soldiers With Envelope in this lot. This typed letter is dated 9 May 1945. It was from Headquarters of the Third United States Army, APO 403. It is General Orders Number 98 to The Soldiers of The Third Army Past and Present. The message was from G. S. Patton, Jr., General. The letter was reproduced by Hq, 314th FA Bn.. The letter was found in the included cover which was a Treasury Department Savings Bond envelope. Everything on the envelope is crossed out and written on it is ''3rd Army 1945''.

In the letter, General Patton honors, credits, and congratulates the Third Army for their victorious combat. It goes into detail of battles, countries, advancements, accomplishments, achievements, and much more. The letter was found in its envelope, among many other World War II papers that were saved and stored away by a World War II U.S. Army Veteran Soldier.

The letter measures 8'' x 12-7/8'' and the envelope measures 8-1/8'' x 4-3/4''. They appears to be in excellent condition with folds. The paper has even over all browning from age as pictured.
