The pictures show all (14) Small Old Carved Bone Or Ivory Items in this lot. The close up picture of the dice is to show that two of these have markings. It is difficult to see in the scan but the left two each have a crown stamp. The smallest one also looks like it has some initials as well. I am told that these were required stampings in the 1700's by King George for taxes. Included in this lot is: a broken handle some sort of carved tool a piano key (2) carved Elephant charms (4) antique clothing buttons a horn charm (3) dice and a cross charm. The cross charm or pendant may have been from a necklace or rosary beads. The center section has a metal fitting inside. It had once held either a relic or a stanhope viewer. Only the metal section remains inside. To judge the sizes the cross measures 1-5/8" tall not counting the metal charm loop. These are in various conditions as pictured. |
