The picture shows the (2) Nice Old Saltair Pavilion Utah Post Cards in this lot. The top one has a small cloth bag of salt sewn onto the side. On both sides the bag reads: "SALT FROM THE GREAT SALT LAKE UTAH". It has an image of the Saltair Pavilion from atop of a roller coaster. Below the dance hall can be seen as well as a Merry Go Round or Carousel, and other buildings and/or rides. This Saltair location was used as the backdrop for the early classic horror film "Carnival of Souls" in 1962. That card is unused but shows a little discoloration on the back. It has a paragraph on the back and the front is marked as follows: 17 - SALTAIR PAVILION FROM TOP OF ROLLER COASTER The second postcard is even more colorful. It is basically a closer view then the first one. The back has a paragraph and an invitation to attend Utah's Centennial in 1947. There is a hand written message, address, 1 cent postage stamp, and it is post marked 1949. The front is marked as follows: 833 - SALTAIR PAVILION, GREAT SALT LAKE, UTAH Not counting the salt bag they each measure 5-1/2" x 3-1/2". They are in excellent condition. |
