The image on the postcard is the front of the Paradise Inn with a tunnel dug in the snow to get into the building. In front is an old bus, people, and an Alaska sled dog team. The card has a message written and a 1938 Tacoma, Washington postmark. It is addressed to a Gardiner, Maine address and it has a one cent George Washington postage stamp. The front and back are marked as follows: RAINIER NATIONAL PARK EARLY JULY AT PARADISE INN Early July scene at Paradise Inn. Road has been opened by steam shovel. Inn is entered through tunnel. Alaska dog team on upper level. Stage is of the type operated from gateways to Park. Rainier National Park, Washington. The postcard measures 5-1/2'' x 3-1/2''.
