The picture shows a view of the (2) 1939 Gas Station Attendant Photograph Negatives in this lot. There is a third negative (not pictured) that is connected and included. It is of a couple in front of a camp fire. These were taken by a family traveling to the 1939 - 1949 New York Worlds Fair. The scans do not show all of the detail that is on these. After studying these negatives it was found that the two could be placed side by side for a panoramic view.

The first negative has a gas station attendant in a hat and uniform in a doorway On the wall to the left of him there is a sign that reads ''GOING TO THE FAIR?'' and on both sides of the door there are signs with the Trylon & Perisphere that read ''AS US ABOUT THE BEST ROUTE''. There are maps in a rack below and a thermometer hanging on the wall. There are full oil can displays advertising ''LUBRITE MOTOR OIL'' and ''MOBILOIL''. There are also ''SOCONY BRITE'' oil cans and other different cans in the window on the right.

The second negative has a young man sitting next to and leaning on an old Pepsi-Cola - Coca-Cola chest cooler. There are two large ''PEPSI - COLA REFRESHING & HEALTHFUL'' decals and one from ''COCA - COLA SERVED HERE ICE COLD'' that pictures a cooler. In the window there is a ''SOCONY'' can and various ''MOBILOIL'' and ''MOBILGAS'' packages. Outside in a rack are more ''SOCONY OIL'' cans. There is a ''FRIENDLY SERVICE'' sign as well as a ''MAKE SURE'' sign that can be seen. Also in the image there is what appears to be a neon type clock and the front end of an old car.\

These are 35mm negatives. They are in excellent condition as pictured. There is much more detail then the scans show. The small print on the cans and signs can all be read.
