The picture shows a view of this Old Victorian Era Home Interior Photograph. The photo is not dated but it is believed to be from the late 1800s or early 1900s. It was found with other photographs from the same time period. The location is unknown but others with this one were from the Boston, Massachusetts area. The photo is of a woman in a fancy dress sitting at a table holding an old photograph. Also in the room is period furniture everywhere including three tables with a fancy coverings, five different chairs, a couch or day bed, a large floor vase, two large vases on the fireplace mantle filled with peacock feathers, a candelabra set with candles, and two different facy mantle clocks. The room is carpeted and there are three smaller carpets. There are five large framed photographs, drawings, or prints and photograph cards throughout the room. There are lace curtains, crocheted coverings, detailed wallpaper, and a hanging gas chandelier. The table cover in the center looks like a tapestry. There is a zither musical instrument and a magazine on the floor, a toy doll standing on a chair, and a jar on a table. In the corner there is a Greek (?) statue, a calendar, and a large folding fan, and more. There is a lot more detail that can be seen in this clear photo. This original photograph is printed on old photographic paper. It measures 4-7/8'' x 4''. It is in mint as made condition as pictured. There is no damage on the bottom edge. The negative appears to have had a jagged edge. |
