The picture shows a view of the 1945 American Red Cross Letter & Envelope in this lot. This American Red Cross letter was from the New Haven, Connecticut Chapter and it was sent to a West Haven, Connecticut address. The envelope has a 1-1/2 Martha Washington postage stamp and the letter is dated May 10th, 1945.

The letter is a thank you for patriotism and donated blood during World War II. It states that 45,000 pints of blood are needed each week provided by donors in eleven cities. It also states that beginning November of 1942 (to the date of the letter) New Haven had contributed 20, 626 pints of blood.

To judge the sizes the letter measures 8-1/2'' x 11''. Both appear to be in excellent condition as pictured.
