The picture shows a view of the cover of this South River New Jersey World War II Homecoming Celebration Booklet. This booklet is from the celebration that took place on June 30th, July 1st, and July 2nd of 1946. The booklet opens with the poem ''LOVE OF COUNTRY'' by Sir Walter Scott. There is a ''WELCOME HOME GI JOES''. There is a color American flag image with the Pledge of Allegiance, The Star Spangled Banner, and a Memoriam. There are many pages of photographs of the ''South River Boys Who Made The Supreme Sacrifice''. There is a portrait of George Washington and a copy of a letter from the Governor of New Jersey. There is an 1868 portrait of Abraham Lincoln, The Gettysburg Address and a copy of a letter from the Mayor of the Borough of South River. There is a many page list of the South River Boys and Girls Who Served In The Armed Forces. There is a History of the Draft Board. There is a photograph of the World War II Honor Roll with some men in front of it. There is the song ''America'' by Samuel Francis Smith and a photo of the World War I Soldiers' Monument. There is the Program of Events, a long list of Sponsors. Finally there is a picture of the Statue of Liberty and a statement by General Douglas A. MacArthur.

The booklet measures 8-1/2'' x 11-1/4''. It is in excellent condition with some light soiling from handling on the cover.
