The pictures show views of this 1900 Frederick White Masonic Elgin (15) Jewel Pocket Watch. The Elgin serial number on this watch (#9023220) dates it to the year 1900. The face of this pocketwatch has the double headed eagle with the number ''32'' for the 32nd degree above it. The name ''Frederick White'' is also on the face. It has an hour hand, a minute hand and a second hand. The hands and the dots by the numbers seem to no longer glow in the dark. We can not find a gold marking on it but it may be gold filled or gold plated. It has not been tested and we do not know for sure. Markings on the workings inside include: ELGIN NATL WATCH CO. U.S.A. 19566789 15 JEWELS DOUBLE ROLLER The back cover unscrews to open. It is marked on the inside with engraved wording and numbers. We do not know what all of these numbers mean. They are as follows: FAHYS MONTAUK GUARANTEED 20 YEARS 9023220 78668 79407 79982 c651 (?) 304R2 RAL527 The pocket watch measures about 1-13/16'' wide x 2-7/16'' tall counting the top loop. We do not know how to grade the watch, but it appears to be in excellent condition to us as pictured. The watch will run for a awhile and then it stops. We believe that that it simply is in need of a cleaning, but we do not know for sure. The watch has been here since 1985 and we have never had it cleaned. It will need to be sold as is. |
