1951 Lewiston Strand Theatre Lewiston Maine Photograph
Lewiston   Strand   Theatre   Theater   Maine   Photo   Photograph   Nostalgic   History   Historic   Advertising   Movie   Film
The picture shows a view of this 1951 Lewiston Strand Theatre Lewiston Maine Photograph. This photo is not dated but both movies that are being advertised are from 1951. The Lewiston Theatre is the backdrop in this photo for some other event, but we do not know what, perhaps a parade or a speaker. Many unknown adults and a few children can be seen. The signs that can be read are as follows:

Lewiston Theatre (top of building)
Strand (marquee)
No Highway In The Sky (1951 movie playing)
Also
Overland Telegraph (1951 movie playing)
(partially seen painted signs on buildings to the left and right)
NO. 6

The black & white photograph has a scalloped edge and it measures about 3-1/2'' x 5''. It appears to be in excellent to near mint condition as pictured. There is a light crease in the bottom portion that does not show on the scan. Below here, for reference, is a cast list for each of the two movies that were playing at the theatre:
