| | | | The pictures below show larger front and back views of this Old United States Navy Recruiting Command Advertising Brass Metal Plaque. This was to be mounted on a wooden plaque back, but it never was. It could also be mounted in a Navy display, on a door, a building, on an award, a sea chest, or more. It was forged with great detail out of solid brass. The insignia is not dated, and the year that it was made is unknown. The insignia has the Sunrise, an American eagle, a shield, a U.S. Navy Ship Anchor, an anchor chain and two stars. It is marked as follows: UNITED STATES NAVY
RECRUITING COMMAND This brass insignia measures about 3-3/4'' wide. It appears to be in mint unused condition as pictured. |
