The picture shows a view of this Old Boxed S.S. Himalaya Ship Souvenir Metal Notepad. The second picture is of the ship it came from. The picture is NOT included. It is only shown for reference.

This notepad has a fancy metal case with applied leather on the front as well as an enameled ship flag emblem marked ''S. S. Himalaya''. The note pad comes with all of its pages, but the first two have some old notes written in pencil. It comes with its original simulated alligator skin box.

Below here is some information found about this ship:

S.S. "Himalaya" 28,000 tons
Built by Vickers Armstrong at Barrow in Furness
Launched 5th October 1948
Maiden voyage at the end of September 1949.
In service until 19th October 1974 when she left Sydney for the breakers yards in Taiwan

"Himalaya" was similar in appearance to the company's United Kingdom / Far East Service liner "Chusan", especially with the distinctive funnel that both possessed, the latter though smaller at 24,000 tons, having the same 'Thorneycroft funnel top, as "Himalaya", fitted to keep smoke from blowing down onto the decks below.

The note pad measures 2-3/4'' x 4-5/8'' and the box is slightly larger. With the exception of the two used pages it is in mint condition.
