| | | The picture shows a view of both sides of this 1930s Kool Aid Junior Aviation Corps Advertising Premium Pilot Cloth Hat. This hat was part of a promotion for children in the early days of commercial flight around 1938 from Kool-Aid and TWA. It was run by Charles Fredericks - TWA Pilot (Chief of Boys Division) and Mary Carlton TWA Hostess (Chief of Girls Division). Also part of the promotion (but not included here) were metal airline wings, a certificate, Kool-Aid advertising and other paper ephemera items. This dark blue hat is a ''Pilot'' hat for boys, but there was also a red ''Hostess'' hat for girls available. This hat is imprinted in yellow with a propeller and wings on the front and it is marked on the two sides as follows: PILOT KOOL - AID JUNIOR AVIATION CORPS The hat measures 11'' x 5-1/4''. It appears to be in near mint to mint condition as pictured. |
