The pictures below show larger views of this 1949 Officer’s Club Navy Building Boston Massachusetts Farewell Party Song Booklet. We do not know if the woman was being transferred, promoted, was moving, or retiring, just that she was leaving where ever she was working. The booklet was mimeographed, surely so that everyone could have and use one for singing at this party. Shown is the cover and a random sample song page. The cover has a wreath and is marked as follows:

FAREWELL PARTY TO
MARY R. COLE
OFFICER’S CLUB
NAVY BUILDING
BOSTON, MASS.
DECEMBER 7, 1949

The booklet has many typed lyrics of songs. Some at the beginning (ones with an asterik (*)) have some altered words to include this “Mary” woman’s name, or things about her. Looking at some of the references, she worked at “USNRAO” or “NRAO”. We do not know what the abbreviation stands for. If you know, please let us know. The songs included are as follows:

(*) MARY
HEART OF MY HEART
(*) HOME ON THE RANGE
(*) MOTHER
(*) THE BAND PLAYED ON
JINGLE BELLS
RUDOLPH THE RED NOSED REINDEER
WHITE CHRISTMAS
OH! SUSANNA
THE MAN ON THE FLYING TRAPEZE
WHEN YOU WERE A TULIP
I LOVE YOU TRULY
LET ME CALL YOU SWEETHEART
DAISY BELL
INDIANA
LET THE REST OF THE WORLD GO BY
CLEMENTINE
CAROLINA MOON
BY THE WATERMELON VINE
FOR HE’S A JOLLY GOOD FELLOW
MacNAMARA’S BAND
RED RIVER VALLEY
I WANT A GIRL
HAIL – HAIL
LONG LONG TRAIL
MY WILD IRISH ROSE
SIDEWALKS OF NEW YORK
AULD LANG SYNE
SWEET ADELINE
AFTER THE BALL

The party song booklet measures about 5-5/8'' x 8-1/8''. It appears to be in fair to good used condition with some wear from use as pictured. There are small tears by the top and bottom staples.
