| | | | The picture shows a view of this Unused 1940 Walt Disney Pinocchio Animated Movie Ad Mat Mold. The ad mat is not dated but it is from the 1940 movie. This is a mold in which lead is poured to create a thin metal negative image that is then mounted on a wooden block for printing. Advertising is no longer being made or printed like this. The ad mat is like a miniature 3-D poster and would look nice framed, or you could still use it and make print blocks from it. The print block would have been used to print on movie pages in newspapers, in magazines, or in the movie theater programs. This one doesn't actually advertise the movie, but it has the characters and print blocks can be made individually. It is made of a thick compressed paper board. This admat is marked ''© Walt Disney Productions'' and ''PINOCCHIO MAT 2-D''. It features the following Pinocchio characters: Pinocchio
