The pictures below show larger views of this Old Boxed Remington Rand 60 DeLuxe Electric Shaver With Shaver Service Kit. The electric razor and its paperwork are not dated but they are believed to be from the early 1950s. There is much here in this lot. First there is the advertising cardboard sleeve that covers the box. It has advertising all around it. Inside the sleeve is a box that pictures the razor and has even more advertising for this: REMINGTON 60 DELUXE ELECTRIC SHAVER A PRODUCT OF REMINGTON RAND MODEL NO 653 REMINGTON RAND INC. ELECTRIC SHAVER DIV. BRIDGEPORT 2, CONNECTICUT Inside the box is another box. This one is black and hinged. It is similar to a jewelry box. It has a brass plate on top to be engraved. Inside there is the electric razor and the electric cord, with a velvet bottom in the box and a silky to section marked “REMINGTON – A PRODUCT OF REMINGTON RAND”. The cord is wraped in a special plastic holder. Also inside the cardboard box there are (5) different paper items. One of these is a card instructing you to connect the cord and how to turn the razor on. It also reminds toy to mail in your warranty card. Next there are (3) folded and perforated cards. One is a “USER IDENTIFICATION CARD”, another is a “DEALER RECORD CARD”, and the third is a “DISTRIBUTOR’S RECORD CARD” These aren’t filled in except the stamped model number #653. Next is a “REMINGTON ELECTRIC SHAVER ACCESSORIES” advertising brochure. It pictures accessories including Pre-Shave, After Shave, Shaver Saver, a razor holder, cord, plug, and a Service Kit (see below). It has an unused order form with prices, and a list of places to mail your shaver for any service or repairs. There is also a “HOW TO USE AND CARE FOR YOUR NEW REMINGTON 60 DeLUXE ELECTRIC SHAVER” booklet. It has (20) pages of details, instructions and images. The fifth and final paper item is a “REMINGTON RAND FIRSTS” advertising brochure. It pictures two pages full of few of the products made by Remington Rand, and on the back there is a list from 1873 to 1951 of Remington Rand Firsts which include: 1873 FIRST TYPEWRITER 1892 FIRST VERTICAL FILMING SYSTEM 1898 FIRST DECIMAL TABULATOR 1903 FIRST INSULATED SAFE 1907 FIRST VERTICAL ADDING AND SUBTRACTING ACCOUNT MACHINE 1907 FIRST VISIBLE FILING SYSTEM 1909 FIRST NOISELESS TYPEWRITER 1920 FIRST STANDARD KEYBOARD PORTABLE TYPEWRITER 1925 FIRST ELECTRIC TYPEWRITER 1929 FIRST MACHINE EVER TO TRANSLATE PUNCHED HOLES INTO WORDS AS WELL AS AMOUNTS AND PRINT THEM ACROSS THE FACE OF THE CARD 1933 FIRST ALPHABETICAL TABULATOR WITH INSTANTANIOUS SUMMARY PUNCH 1939 FIRST PRINTING CALCULATOR 1939 FIRST MULTIPLE HEAD ELECTRIC SHAVER 1944 FIRST PUNCHED CARD ELECTRONIC COMPUTER 1945 FIRST LARGE SCALE ELECTRONIC DIGITAL COMPUTER – ENIAC 1947 FIRST COLLATING REPRODUCER 1951 FIRST COMMERCIAL ELECTRONIC COMPUTING SYSTEM - UNIVAC The final item in this lot is a Remmington Electric Shaver Accessory. It is the Service Kit that is mentioned above. In a separate box, this kit has a full bottle of lubricant oil, a straight cleaning brush, a round cleaning brush, and a tiny screw driver. All of these items for one price! To judge the sizes the box picturing the razor measures about 5-3/4'' x 4-1/2'' x 2''. These items appear to be in excellent to mint condition as pictured. The sleeve box has a tear area on a corner. The cleaning kit box has some wear. The whole outfit does have an old odor to it. At the time of this listing it is being stored in a bag with baking soda to help eliminate that, but it will need to be aired out, and perhaps a real good thorough cleaning will help. |
