The picture shows a view of this 1940 Lawrence Massachusetts Police Relief Association Concert & Ball Program Booklet. The cover pictures a police officer badge logo or emblem. It is dated Monday, March 25, 1940 and it was the 51st Annual Ball. The event was held at the Recreation Ballroom. The music at the Ball was by The Biltmore Orchestra with Marches, Fox Trots, Waltzes, and included songs from the (then new) 1939 movie The Wizard of OZ. There are (18) songs listed inside. The program was donated through the courtesy of Doykos & Company of Lawrence, Massachusetts. The only exclusive and reliable furrier in the city. They have an advertisement on the front inside cover. There are also many people named in the booklet including the Ball Committee, The City Council, and The Officers of The Association. In the back is a letter of Appreciation from the Lawrence Police Relief Association. The closed booklet measures about 3-1/2'' x 5''. It appears to be in excellent condition as pictured. There are five paste spots on the blank back cover from it being in a scrap book at some point. |
