The postcard may be older, but it was postmarked June 12, 1943. The stamp area is marked FREE because the card was mailed by a U.S. Army Soldier during World War II. The postmark also advertises to ''BUY WAR SAVINGS BONDS AND STAMPS''. It was sent from New York, N.Y. to a Sanford, Maine mailing address. The postcard has a colorful view of the bar with an inset image of Jack Dempsey. The back has his printed facsimile autograph or signature.
