| | | The picture below shows a larger view of this 1946 Cracker Jack pop Corn Confection Magic 13 Slate Series Paper Toy Prize #1. This is a prize that has Sailor Jack imprinted on the cover. Later these type prizes were called “slates”, where you would lift a page to erase marks that were made with a pencil or point. The inside is not shown because it would damage the prize to open the cover that far. This particular prize is titled “SHOOT THE ENEMY”. It is a game in which you would make marks with your eyes closed and see if you hit a target. There are different games and puzzles to this set. The Cracker Jack ID number for this series is Z-0839. These were made by The Strathmore Press Company. The instructions are on the other side of the cover. It is also marked as follows: CRACKER JACK POPCORN CONFECTION “THE MORE YOU EAT – THE MORE YOU WANT” THIS IS GAME NO. 1 SHOOT THE ENEMY MAGIC “13” SERIES U.S. PATENT 1455579 STRATHMORE CO. AURORA, ILL. The prize measures about 1-1/2'' x 2-1/2''. The outside of this prize appears to be in excellent condition as pictured. Unfortunately because of the material and age the thin cellophane type material inside becomes brittle and cracks. This prize displays well, but it is cracked inside. |
