The pictures show a front and back view of this 1951 Boy in Roy Rogers Cowboy Outfit & U.S. Navy Commander Photograph. The photo is dated May 3rd, 1951 on the back. This photo has an image of two young boys in cowboy hats and the older one also has a western shirt and metal studded pants with ''RR'' studs for Roy Rogers. It appears that he has a wings pin on his hat as well. There is a woman in the photograph, and next to her is a United States Navy Commander Officer in uniform. He has an insignia badge on his chest with an eagle, but we do not know what it is. There is writing on the back of the photo which may be researched to find out who he was. His first name was ''Bill''. The Officer is showing his ''Staff'' in the photo to someone named ''Art''. If anyone can provide information as to what ''32V2'', ''75A2'', or ''W4NUU'' stand for, please let us know. This photo was taken 64 years ago at the front door of the address written on the back: 969 N. Patrick Henry Drive in Arlington, Virginia. Checking on Google Maps Street View the home, and the door way still exists today. The black & white photograph has a scalloped edge and measures 3-1/2'' x 5-3/4''. It appears to be in excellent condition with a single horizontal crease as pictured. |
