| | | The pictures show a front and back view of all (5) Mixed 1896 Cigarette Premium Celluloid Pin Back Buttons With Sayings in this lot. These pinback buttons were part of an 1896 collection of pinback buttons that we had acquired. They were used as a premium from Sweet Caporal Cigarettes, Hassan Cigarettes, and two that are unknown. They are from different sets. It is unknown how many are in the different complete sets. Each of these pinback buttons have a saying or slogan from the Victorian era. There are advertising paper inserts in the back of two of them and one is embossed. Two also are marked ''SWEET CAPORAL CIGARETTE'' on the front. In the order pictured, they have the following sayings:

PAT. JULY 17, 1894 SWEET CAPORAL CIGARETTE The pin back buttons each measure 7/8'' wide. They appear to be in good to excellent condition with age discoloration or spotting as pictured. One has a missing insert and one has a bent pin on the back as it was found. |
