The date on the postmark can not be seen, but this card is believed to be from the early 1900s. The wooden side is stamped and imprinted with a buck deer and it is colored. There is a diecut oval that has a photograph of two young Victorian women (Nellie & E.F.H.). It reads ''FROM A FRIEND''. The back has applied printed post card paper with an eagle. It has a green 1902 Benjamin Franklin one cent postage stamp, an American flag Biddeford, Maine postmark, and it was sent to a young lady friend with a Rochester, New Hampshire mailing address. It is also marked ''JAPANESE WOOD NOVELTY CO., N.Y.. The postcard measures 3-7/16'' x 5-7/16''. It appears to be in good used condition as pictured. |
