| | | The picture below shows larger front and back views of this 1973 Boston Tea Party Bicentennial Commemorative Advertising Souvenir Medal Ribbon. The medal is dated 1973. It has a maroon ribbon, and hanging from it is a bronze or brass medal. One side has saling ships with crates or cases of tea being thrown into the water of the Boston, Massachusetts harbor. The other side has a seal from the “American Numismatic Association” with symbolic images such as: an oil lamp, a Native American Indian with a bow aarrow, a pine tree, a chain representing the 13 colonies, a deer, a ship anchor, a farm plow, a squirrel, grape vines with grapes, and a sailing ship. It is marked on the two sides as follows: BOSTON TEA PARTY BICENTENNIAL 1773 - 1973 AT BOSTON IN NEW ENGLAND 1973 82nd ANNIVERSARY CONVENTION AMERICAN NUMISMATIC ASSOCIATION The medal with ribbon measure about 1-1/2'' x 3-5/8'' x 1/8''. The medal has its maroon cloth ribbon, but there is no pin section at the top. The pin section can be easily replaced. We are not coin graders, and conditions can be subjective, so please see the picture(s) to judge for yourself. Aside from the missing pin, to us it appears to be mint condition as pictured. |
