The pictures show a view of all (15) 1960s Miss America Beauty Pageant Related Items in this lot. All of these items had belonged to one of the women who was a Runner Up Contestant. The first item in this lot is a March 27th, 1965 ''MISS WALTERBORO BEAUTY PAGEANT'' program book. This South Carolina book is filled with contestant pictures, and information, as well as a lot of advertising from sponsors. There are too many to list. The center pages have the top (10) contestants as well as the Miss Walterboro of 1964 - 1965. There is a section that pictures every Miss America through the years from 1921 to 1964. The inside covers have color advertisements. The front one is for Pepsi and it pictures the Miss America Vonda Kay Van Dyke in the Walt Disney, New York World's Fair Exhibit ''Its A Small World''. The back inside ad pictures her in a 1965 Oldsmobile Starfire Convertible car. The back cover pictures the same Miss America in a Ban-Lon evening dress by Alfred Bosand.

The next item included is a Thursday, March 25th, 1965 The Press and Standard newspaper section with the article ''Who Will Be Miss Walterboro 1965?'' It has the story and pictures of contestants. The woman that these items came from is pictured in the magazine above and this newspaper article. There are three additional pages of the newspaper that are included as well as another news article.

Next is a 1963 Miss Englewood Contest program. It is from Englewood High School of Jacksonville, Florida. It has the schedule information, the contestant names and their advertising sponsor. There are (34) advertisements inside the (8) pages.

The rest of the items in this lot are all snap shot photographs of the contestants for the Walterboro, South Carolina Miss America Contest. There are (12) photographs in all. These include some in gowns, swim suits, talent, as well as some at home and one at the beach.

All of these items for one price! To judge the sizes the program book measures 8-1/2'' x 10-3/4''. These items appear to vary from very good to mint condition as pictured. Below here, for reference, is some additional information about Englewood High School:

Englewood High School is a public high school in Jacksonville, Florida's Southside. Rich in tradition and pride, Englewood High School was constructed in 1956 and exemplifies the concept of a ''neighborhood school''. Located on 37 acres on the Southside of Jacksonville, Florida, this school is one of the 21 high schools in Duval County Public School System. The school is located at 4412 Barnes Road, which is approximately 1/2 mile north of the I-95 and University Boulevard intersection. Englewood is said to have a population of about 2,000 students, which includes over 500 students from over fifty different countries.

The Englewood High School facility contains seventy-three classrooms, including technology and art buildings. On the grounds they have an auditorium, gymnasium, band and chorus wing, cafeteria, swimming pool, football stadium, two field houses, baseball and softball fields, media center, television studio, and an administrative suite.

Although Englewood is not a magnet school, they still offer their students college preparatory courses, technical and vocational training, a military science program, in addition to the specialized E.S.O.L. and E.S.E. programs, which address the unique needs of the diverse student population. Almost every classroom is equipped with student computer stations, which are connected to the internet, and a laser printer which provides students access to various computer programs to practice the skills and knowledge learned throughout the curriculum. Every teacher has a laptop for instructional use and has completed a minimum of 15 hours of training on the use of the equipment.
