| | | The picture shows all (19) U.S. World War II Photographs in this lot. The first four pictured were added to the lot. All of the others came from the same person. Those appear to have been taken when Soldiers return to the United States. I do not know for certain, but they are believed to have been taken in Cambridge or Boston, Massachusetts. Some are in front of a family run drug store. This is known because of other homefront photos that were purchased with these. Most have Soldiers in uniform. There are a few with a U.S. Navy Sailor. One has some writing on the front that reads as follows: "JAN. 1, 1944 - CO. D. 4th BN. - T.C.R.T.S. - CAMP PLAUCHE NEW ORLEANS - LOUISIANA - PVT. MELVIN AMES CENTER - BACK ROW". All of these for one price! The largest photo in this lot measures abou 4-1/4" x 6". The conditions vary as pictured. The second picture is about to come apart from a center fold. That photo has writing in French on the back and is from Paris, France. |
