The picture shows a view of one of the (4) Large 1945 City Scene With Signs Photograph Negatives in this lot. The other three are similar. One of the others is slightly to the right and the other two are more focused on the stores in the center. These negatives are believed to be either from New Hampshire or Massachusetts town. Both cars pictured have a 1945 New Hampshire license plate. These have two old cars and five businesses with signs.

These are all original large format sepia tone negatives on Eastman Kodak Safety Film. They each measure 4-5/8'' x 3-1/2''. They are almost the size of a post card! With this size these could be enlarged very big without losing any detail. There is much more detail then can be seen in the scanned pictures below.

Beginning at the top left there is a Tailor or Men's Shop. There is a large sign above the windows and the windows have signs as well. These all read as follows:

WILLIAM'S CUSTOM TAILORS
FOR LADIES AND GENTS
READY TO WEAR COATS - SUITS - PANTS - HATS --
DUPONTS TRI - CLENE PROCESS

WILLIAM'S MEN'S SHOP
BACK FROM THE ARMY
OPEN FOR BUSINESS
OPEN FOR BUSINESS

There is another sign for this business at the bottom of the stairs. It reads twice:

MEN'S READY MADE SUITS HATS

The next business is downstairs. It is a retail outlet store. In the windows are mannequin heads with ladies hats. There is a large sign above the windows and signs in the windows. These read as follows:

RETAIL BRANCH
MILLINERY MFG. CO.
HOLYOKE, MASS.
RETAIL AT FACTORY PRICE

MILLINERY MFG. CO.
HOLYOKE, MASS.
INVENTORY SALE ALL WINTER HATS 1/2 PRICE

Next there is another upstairs business. In the windows there is a nice Christmas display. It has a sleigh, reindeer, buildings, snow, and trees. The signs on the windows and the door at the bottom of the stairs reads as follows:

EVELYNS
BEAUTY SHOPPE
BEAUTY SHOPPE

EVELYNS
BEAUTY SHOPPE

The next business is downstairs. It has very decorated store windows with all kinds of Christmas items. There is an old tin EX - LAX Thermometer sign outside and the rest is covered in signs. These read as follows:

CARROLL CUT RATE COSMETICS
A MITCHELL DEALER

HEADQUARTERS FOR CHRISTMAS GIFTS
CHRISTMAS
CHRISTMAS

ALL POPULAR CIGARETTES
TOILET WATER $1.50
LOVELITE PERFUME $1.00
CIGARETTE LIGHTERS 98c

The last business in the negatives appears to be a dress shop. It has a single sign (maybe neon) above the windows that reads:

PRINCESS

These are all in mint condition as the one pictured. Although these appear to be professionally made, none of the negatives are copyrighted. Photographs of these can be printed and sold.
