The picture shows a view of all (4) Colorful Old Imprinted Silk or Satin Tobacco Premiums in this lot. These are not dated but they are believed to be from the early 1900s. They were a premium or prize with the purchase of tobacco products. They were mainly marketed towards women and many had made quilts with them. All of these are numbered from sets and two of these are from a set called ''CANADIAN HISTORY SERIES''. Three of these feature Native American Indians and one is of the Prince of Wales, later King George. These have colorful Historic images and they are marked as follows: CANADIAN HISTORY SERIES 2. JACQUES CARTIER RAISES THE LILIES OF FRANCE AT CAPE GASPE 1534. CANADIAN HISTORY SERIES 41. LAURA SECORD WARNS FITZGIBBON OF PROJECTED AMERICAN ATTACK 1813. 29. FORT WILLIAM HENRY. MASSACRE BY INDIANS: 1757. 50. CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS. VISIT OF KING GEORGE, THEN PRINCE OF WALES. 1908. These each measure about 5'' x 2-3/4''. They appear to be in excellent to near mint condition with a light center fold on each as pictured. |
