The picture below shows a larger view of this Unused ©1957 Voodoo Island Horror Movie Advertising Ad Mat Mold. The ad mat is not dated but it is from 1957 when this movie was made. This is a mold in which lead is poured to create a thin metal negative image that is then mounted on a wooden block for printing. Advertising is no longer being made or printed like this.

The ad mat is like a miniature 3-D poster and would look nice framed, or you could still use it and make print blocks from it. The print block would have been used to print on movie pages in newspapers, in magazines, or in the movie theater programs. It is made of a thick compressed paper board. The admat has the title, an image of a young woman, and Boris Karloff. It is marked as follows:

BORIS KARLOFF
VOODOO ISLAND
SEE! MEN TURNED INTO ZOMBIES!
SEE! WOMAN – EATING COBRA PLANTS!
SEE! STRANGE VOODOO RITUALS!
SEE! THE BRIDGE OF DEATH!
RELEASED THRU UNITED ARTISTS
1 COL. X 28 LINES (2 INCHES)

The ad mat measures about 2-3/4'' x 3''. It appears to be in mint unused condition as pictured.

Below here, for reference, is a cast list from this 1957 movie:

Boris Karloff - Phillip Knight
Beverly Tyler - Sarah Adams
Murvyn Vye - Barney Finch
Elisha Cook Jr. - Martin Schuyler (as Elisha Cook)
Rhodes Reason - Matthew Gunn
Jean Engstrom - Claire Winter
Friedrich von Ledebur - Native Chief
Glenn Dixon - Mitchell
Owen Cunningham - Howard Carlton
Herbert Patterson - Dr. Wilding
Jerry Frank - Vickers
Adam West - Weather Station #4 Radio Operator (uncredited)
