| | | The picture shows this Old Hong-Far-Low Chinese Restaurant Menu from Boston, Massachusetts. It is not dated but a clue to the date is the telephone number which is 25303. Pictured on the cover is: "This is the first man in Boston who made Chop Suey in 1879". There is the cover (front & back) and two pages of menu items. The back has an interior picture of the restaurant, it looks very ornate and Victorian. The items on the menu are priced from 5 cents to the highest price of $1.10. Fried Lobster is only $1.00! Opened it measures 10-1/2" x 8-1/4". Now for the condition. There is a crease in the center from being folded. It has light over all soiling and about 1/4 of the paper surface on the back bottom is missing from this being taken out of a scrap book at some time. Despite the condition this is still a nice old menu. |
