The pictures show views of all (3) World War I Patriotic Souvenir Items Sent Home By A U.S. Army Soldier in this lot. These had all been sent home by the same U.S. Army Soldier and they were found together. The purse like folder and the handkerchief were sent to his Mother and the post card was sent to his Sister.

The first item is an embroidered postcard with American, British, and French flags. It also has flowers, a horse shoe, and the wording ''TO MY DEAR SISTER''. The colorful embroidery is on cloth and it has a paper frame. It is neatly addressed to his Sister Miss Ethel M. Goodwin of Dover, Maine wishing her ''A Merry Xmas and Happy New Year. From Clayton''. It is clean and only has a light crease on the back.

The second item is a purse like cloth folder. It has a lace edge and a red, white, and blue tassel cord at the top for hanging. The cord or rope is sewn with the knots seen. The outside has blue cloth. Applied to the cover is a metal ''U.S.A.'' and a ''REMEMBER ME'' section with an embroidered eagle and American flag. When opened there is white cloth. The top section is imprinted in blue. It pictures a Soldier in a wreath with an American flag, eagle, two rifles and a Mother in a wreath. It is marked as follows:

FORGET ME NOT
When the Golden Sun is sinking,
And your mind from troubles free
While of others You are thinking,
Will You sometimes think of me?

The next panel has an (42) star American flag pocket for storing items. In this pocket were some photographs, but these were returned to the family. The back panel is only blue cloth with the lace edging. It is clean and in like new condition.

The third and final item in this lot is a colorful souvenir handkerchief from France. It has a wide lace border and a light green silk center that is embroidered with flowers and American and French flags. The wording reads ''SOUVENIR DE FRANCE''. It is clean and like new condition. It has fold creases that can easily be ironed out if desired.

To judge the sizes the wall hanging in the center of the first picture (closed) measures 6-1/4'' x 6-3/4''. These are all in clean excellent to mint condition as pictured.
