The pictures show views of this 1917 Binghamton New York Wedding Book With Certificate & Real Photo Post card. The book is entitled ''THE BRIDAL SOUVENIR''. The book is by Reverand Samuel Cutler and revised by Reverend John H. Kerr D.D.. It was published by the American Tract Society of New York. It is ©1876, 1879, 1892, & 1904. It has (72) pages filled with advice and information to a newly married couple. It has a gold embossed cover (pictured) and the tops of the page edges are in gold as well. There is a filled in marriage certificate attached inside (also pictured). The certificate is for the marriage of a Mr. Glenn D. Warner to a Miss. Francis Gillette. The wedding was in Binghamton, New York on April 14th, 1917. The certificate is signed by the Clergyman and two witnesses. A blank page is inscribed and dated to the newlywed couple. As a bonus here, also included is a colorized real photo post card that was stored in the book when it was found. The photograph is believed to be of the newly married couple. The postcard is unused and in mint condition. The back or address side of the postcard is marked ''IMPRIME EN FRANCES - MADE IN FRANCE VERTIABLE PHOTOGRAPHIE''. It would be a guess, but perhaps the couple had their honeymoon in France and had the post card made while there. The book measures 4-7/8'' x 7-1/8'' x 3/8''. Because it was safely packed away it is in as mint condition as the day it was made. The book is covered by a tissue paper (not pictured) and it was stored in the box pictured all these years. The box has a sticker picturing a holly leaf sailboat and is marked ''DO NOT SAIL INTO THIS UNTIL DECEMBER 25''. The box has wear but it safely saved the book. It is included as well. |
