The picture below shows larger top and bottom views of this 1913 Cracker Jack Pop Corn Confection Advertising Premium Harmonica Musical Instrument. We are also including a printed scanned image of the 1913 “Catalogue of Cracker Jack Premiums” pages that this harmonica was offered. It is catalog number #199 on pages 92 & 93 of the premium book. The harmonica is made of a non magnetic metal and wood. In 1913 the harmonica would have cost you (90) Cracker Jack Coupons, or (8) Coupons and 20 cents, and a mailed order form. See catalog description. The two sides have recessed lettering and medals pictured. They read as follows: CRACKER JACK THE HARP OF WORLD - WIDE REPUTE MADE IN GERMANY REGD NO. 28285 F 1864 GRUNDER DER FABRICK 1827 – 1891 SCHUTZ MARKE F. A. RAUNER WELTBERUNMTE MARKE The harmonica measures about 5-15/16'' x 1-1/4'' x 3/4''. It appears to be in near good condition as pictured. We do not play a harmonica, but it seems that a few notes aren't playing. After 105+ years it probably could use a good tune up. It is probably a simple fix, but we do not open items like this and attempt any repairs. That would be best left to someone qualified to make any adjustment or repair. |
