Included in this lot are the following items: There is a 1936 photograph of a woman on a pier or boardwalk. She is in a dress and a coat. The back has some extra paper from it being pasted in a scrap book or photo album at one time. There is writing on the bottom as follows: HARRIET YORK BEACH 8 - 1936 There is an old photo of the beach. It pictures a house with wild flowers with the beach, people, a hotel, and other homes in the background. Next there is a colorful 1955 linen postcard. It has a two cent John Adams postage stamp and a June 24, 1955 postmark from York Beach. It was sent to a Rochester, New Hampshire mailing address. There is a message in pencil and it refers to what cottage they were staying (circled on the picture side). The postcard pictures homes, old cars, the beach and people with umbrellas. The caption reads as follows: LONG BEACH FROM OCEAN SIDE, YORK, MAINE. There is another old unused ''plastichrome'' post card, It pictures hotels, the beach, people, and a stand with umbrellas and rafts. Next there is an old advertising drink swizzle stirrer stick. It is made of clear plastic with gold flecks inside. The advertising reads: LE CHALET SUR LA MER YORK BEACH, MAINE There is a ceramic or porcelain advertising souvenir creamer pitcher. It has a colorful image of the rocky coast, a boat, seagulls, and the famous Nubble Light House. It is marked: YORK BEACH, MAINE There is an old unused pennant flag water decal. It features the Nubble lighthouse and it is marked as follows: NUBBLE LIGHT YORK BEACH MAINE The remaining (5) items in this lot are from The Yorks Wild Kingdom amusement park and zoo. The first three are advertising souvenir elongated cents. These were made by putting a penny in an old arcade machine. They each have a different animal design on them. One has an elephant, one a tiger, and one a lion. Each is also marked: YORK'S WILD KINGDOM MAINE Next is an aluminum arcade advertising game token coin. The two side are marked as follows: YORK'S WILD KINGDOM MAINE'S LARGEST ZOO & AMUSEMENT PARK NO CASH VALUE The final item in this lot is a newer York's Wild Kingdom advertising brochure. It has many colorful pictures of the zoo's wild animals and amusement park rides. It has a map and much information as well. All of these items for one price! To judge the sizes the postcards measure about 5-3/8'' x 3-1/2''. These items appear to range from very good to mint condition as pictured. |
