The picture shows a view of the (2) 1939 New York World's Fair Train Engine Photographs in this lot. These two old black & white photographs were found together. The first photo pictures two steam trains in front of a grandstand. One is marked ''Jupiter'' and the other ''119''. There was a production or reinacting the ''Joining of the Rails'' or ''Golden Spike Ceremony'' at the Fair. There are many people dressed in period clothing in the photo plus a military group on horseback with American flags behind the trains. The second photo pictures several trains. The closest one on the left is a British streamlined train. In front of the train is a sign that reads ''CORONATION SCOT''. There is an American flag and two other flags flying. The back of this second photo is marked as follows: 1939 World's Fair The photos each measure about 4-1/8'' x 3-1/8''. They appear to be in near mint condition with top corner tip creases as pictured. |
