This is an accumulated lot with a variety of items including the following: There is a 1978 advertising map for the Naval Base Norfolk in Virginia, and the Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek. It has many local advertisements on it. There is an old John Hancock Life Insurance Company booklet from Boston, Massachusetts titled 39;39;FLYING FIELDS OF THE SEVEN SEAS - THE STORY OF AMERICA39;S AIRCRAFT CARRIERS39;39;. It has (18) pages filled with information and pictures, including ones from the following carriers: U.S.S. HORNET U.S.S. PENNSYLVANIA U.S.S. RANGER U.S.S. WASP U.S.S. ENTERPRISE U.S.S. SARATOGA There are (2) match book covers. The first one has no matches. It has crosses anchors and reads: UNITED STATES NAVY WORLD SYMBOL OF STRENGTH AND FREEDOM The second match cover still has some of the matches. It pictures a Sailor and an American flag. It advertises to 39;39;SHIP OVER39;39; (or re-enlisting). There are (2) unused pencils with the slogan: NOT JUST A JOB, AN ADVENTURE. NAVY. There is an old 39;39;REED & BARTON39;39; 39;39;U.S.N.39;39; tablespoon. It has some wear from use. There is an old advertising pinback button. It has a ship anchor and it is imprinted in blue and yellow on a white background. It reads: BE SOMEONE SPECIAL GO NAVY Next there are (8) old unused U.S. Navy Sailor head paper stickers. They are wearing the old style blue hats. These were probably made to use on letters to sweethearts back home.There is a Chief Petty Officer USN anchor tie tack pin. It is a gold color metal probably gold plated. It is not marked. The back section is included with a chain and a button hole bar. Last but not least in this lot is a 39;39;U.S. NAVY39;39; elongated cent with a ship anchor. It was made from a 1968-D Lincoln Memorial cent. All of these items for one price! To judge the sizes the folded map in the center measures 3-3/839;39; x 8-1/239;39;. These items appear to range from good to mint unused condition as pictured. |
