The picture below shows a larger view of both sides of this 1970 Maine State Sesquicentennial Dawn of America Medal. One side of the bronze or copper medal has an eagle flying at sunrise over a body of water with a Native American Indian on a cliff with a bow, trees, and a Native village with teepees below on the shoreline. The other side of this 150th anniversary medal has a shoreline, a mountain tree branches with leaves, the state seal of Maine, and a ring of stars. It is marked on the two sides as follows: DAWN OF AMERICA MAINE SESQUICENTENNIAL 1820 - 1970 The medal measures 1-1/2'' wide. It appears to be in good condition with over all wear and an aged patina as pictured. |
