The picture shows a view of all (5) Small 1920s & 1930s Diary and Travel Log Books in this lot. The two maroon books are advertising premiums from Stratton's Flour of Concord and Penacook, New Hampshire. The black book was compliments of The H. Wales Lines Company of Meriden, Connecticut with a branch office in New London, Ct.. All of these have been used and contain many interesting entries.

The green book on the left is a 1923 Diary with useful information. It has a page for personal information, the 1920 United States Census for cities and states, the 1913 U.S. War Department mileage to and from cities, a reminder index, business forms information, pages about interest, weights & measures, and wage tables. There are calendar note pages for each day. There are color maps of Greenland, East Coast of China and The Philippine Islands. different maps of the United States, Alaska, Hawaiian Islands, Panama Canal, Canal Zone, Puerto Rico, Samoa Islands, Guam, and Canada. There are address and telephone directory pages, pages for insurance, notes, bills, payments, expenses, sales, cash, and 1923 and 1924 calendar pages.

Next there are (2) maroon advertising premium booklets from Stratton & Company. They were manufacturers of finest high grade Wheat Patent Flour and the best grades of fancy cake and pastry flours. They were also dealers in corn, meal, oats, and feeds of all kinds for horses, cattle, & chickens. The first booklet is from 1928 and the second is from 1935.

The 1928 booklet has a 1928 calendar page, advertising pages, a personal information page, domestic postage rates, postal distances and time from New York City, weights & measures, legal holidays, National and American baseball pennant winners to date, address section, and graph paper pages. There are color maps of the Republic of Panama, North & South America, different maps of the United States, a map of reconstructed Europe, Caribbean Islands, Alaska, Hawaiian Islands, and Mexico. There is an interest table, yield of stocks, populations of large U.S. cities, automobile tire record, legal weights of bushel commodities and a 1929 year calendar page.

The 1935 booklet has a 1935 calendar page, advertising pages, a personal information page, domestic postage rates, postal distances and time from New York City, Presidents of the United States, legal holidays, National and American baseball pennant winners to date, address section, and lined note pages. There are color maps of the Republic of Panama, North & South America, different maps of the United States, a map of reconstructed Europe, Caribbean Islands, Alaska, Hawaiian Islands, and Mexico. There is a telephone numbers section, populations of large U.S. cities, brief business laws, yield of stocks, weights & measures, how to mix paints, weddings, bread recipe, market calendar, legal weights of bushel commodities and a 1936 year calendar page.

The next booklet is the black one from The H. Wales Lines Company of Meriden, Connecticut. It has a 1930 calendar, a title page, personal information page, a page of the building materials that they distributed, advertising pages, and pages of many buildings that they had built (with much information). There is information on Meriden, Connecticut including dates, 1929 City Officials, and fire alarm box locations. There are weights of square & round bars, common nails, a page on the American flag and one on the Presidents of The United States. There are (16) pages of small post card like images of city buildings that the company constructed. There is an address section calendar note pages, telephone number pages, domestic postage rates, postal distances and time from New York City, populations of large U.S. cities, information on fires, help in accidents, antidotes for poisons, legal holidays, brief business law, interest laws & statutes of limitations, weights & measures, National and American baseball pennant winners to date, electrical expressions, automobile tire record, price lists for sewer pipe, white goods, and fire clay stove pipe, and lastly a 1931 calendar page.

The last book in this lot is the larger, leather covered one. It is a Travel book by the Samuel Ward Manufacturing Company of Boston, Massachusetts. The book itself is not dated, but the entries made inside are from 1937 and 1938. The book has a lot of travel information and tips, some of which include things like: ways to carry money, trains, lost articles, travelers aid, baggage, passports, money, immigration, customs, populations, automobiles, postage, interesting facts, areas and countries of travel, legal holidays, distances between cities, National Parks, waterfalls, Great Lakes, high tides, high points in U.S., and city populations. There are pages for route plans, autographs, stops at hotels and camps, highlights, events and places visited, maps to trace trips, cash account, and addresses. There are color maps of The World, Oceania, North America, South America, the United States, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia.

To judge the sizes the largest book measures about 4-1/4'' x 6-5/8'' x 5/8''. These appear to range from good to excellent used condition as pictured. There are many entries written in these that give a lot of details of trips sites visited, accounts and costs of of traveling, and much more.
