The picture shows all (4) pages of this Old Native American Indian HIAWATHA Play Brochure / Program. It does not have a date but is believed to be from the early 1900's. The captions from the pictures are as follows: page #1 "HIAWATHA" and "MINNEHAHA" page #2 & #3 "THE HIAWATHA INDIAN PLAYERS" page #4 "A SCENE FROM THE FAMINE".The production was "A TRIUMPH IN MOTION PHOTOGRAPHY"There were four performances of (100) scenes with (150) Indians. All of the cast was made up of Native American Indians. It also states that "The costumes and customs are absolutely correct. The production is endorsed by the American Museum of Natural History and the American Scenic and Historic Preservation Society. The press pronounces it the only true picture of Indian life ever made.". Closed the brochure / program measures 6" x 9". It is in good condition with some edge wear and a center fold that is begining to separate. |
