The picture shows a view of this Colorful Old Boxed E. E. Fairchild Authors Card Game. Shown is the box, the card back design, the instruction sheet, and the Authors on the cards. There are four cards for each Author. The cards have different books or stories that the Authors have written with a small graphic in a corner from each. Those writers (in the order pictured) include the following:

Howard Pyle
Louisa May Alcott
Cornelia Meigs
Hans Christian Anderson
Rudyard Kipling

This card set was made by the E. E. Fairchild Corporation of Rochester, New York. The set is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1950s.

To judge the sizes the box measures 2-9/16'' x 3-7/8'' x 5/8''. The set of cards appears to be in mint unused condition as pictured. The box has some light corner wear.
