| | | The picture below shows a larger view of this 1945 Cracker Jack Pop Corn Confection Something To Crow About Embossed Tin Novelty Toy Prize Coin. The badge is not dated but it was made in 1945 and 1946 by C. Carey Cloud / Cloudcrest in Chicago, Illinois for The Cracker Jack Company. The Cracker Jack ID number for this novelty prize was Z-1034. You could call it a token or a coin. Other coins like “Queer Quarter”, “Daffy Dollar”, a good luck token, and more were made as Cracker Jack prizes at the same time. Because of the metal shortages from World War II, These were cleverly manufactured from the round scrap tin metal holes from Ball or Mason canning jar lids. It has an embossed image of a crow bird, three stars, and it reads: SOMETHING TO CROW ABOUT The token or badge measures about 1-7/8'' wide. The surface is very reflective. It appears to be in excellent condition as pictured. |
