The picture shows inside and outside views of this Old Silver & Gold United States Naval Officer Photograph Locket. The locket is not dated but it is old. It was most likely purchased by an officer to give to his Wife, Sweetheart, or Mother to remember him while he was away, perhaps at war. The front of this locket has a metal U.S. Navy Officer insignia mounted on what appears to be polished stone with a twisted gold frame around it. The back has a very detailed engraved design that does not show up well in the picture. Inside there are two sides for photographs. Both clear covers and gold frames are present and there are dark red background inserts. It appears to be unused. The pendant or charm is marked on the back as follows: D.R. ST. CO. 1/20 - 12 KT. ON STERLING There is an 18-1/2'' chain. It has a marking but it is hard to read. It has not been tested but is believed to be gold, or gold filled. The pendant measures about 1-7/16'' tall. The pendant and chain have not been cleaned and appear to be in mint unused condition. |
