The pictures below show a larger view of all (15) Different ©1975-1976 United States Half Dollar Coin Numistamps in this lot. These feature the obverse and the reverse of the coins. The 1/8'' thick metal plaques or bars were made to resemble a postage stamp with perforated edges. The back of the plaques are engraved with matching numbers #2558. They are each marked as follows:

NUMISTAMP
© MORT REED (1975 or 1976 year)

This is the complete set of all 15 United States half dollar type coin designs including Flowing Hair Half Dollar, Draped Bust Half Dollar, Capped Bust Half Dollar, Seated Liberty Half Dollar, Barber Half Dollar, Walking Liberty Half Dollar, Franklin Half Dollar, and Kennedy Half Dollar, with their thick black album page and their information page as well. The Bicentennial half dollar is not included here because it is a part of a Bicentennial set.

The Numistamps each measure 2-1/4'' x 1-3/8'' x 1/8''. They appear to be in mint condition as pictured. The information album page has wear and soiling from handling.

Below here, for reference, is some additional information about Numistamps:

''Numistamp'' plaques were made for all coin types from half cents through gold! Includes all denominations/types in existence through 1978, such as the clad Kennedy half dollars, Ike dollars and Bicentennial types. These were designed by and minted for the late Mort Reed. Mort was a world renowned illustrator and columnist for Coin World for many years and wrote several books including the highly acclaimed Odd And Curious. For those who were not around during the 1960s - 1970s when Reed was most active, his work in Coin World was often similar to Ripley's Believe It Or Not, the popular syndicated series seen in the national media. In the 1970s he created the Numistamp series of United States coins reproduced on 2-1/4x1-3/8" plaques that looked like large medallic stamps. The composition of those plaques reflected the coins they bore so that Large cents were produced in copper while the nickel issues were stuck in nickel or a nickel like material, (the War nickels in silver like material), etc. These plaques are rarely seen today and represent a beautiful addition to anybody's collection who enjoys older numismatic memorabilia or anything related to the series they collect.
