The pictures below show larger front and back views of the (2) Different Old Lowney’s Cracker Jack Pop Corn Confection Yesterday and Today Swimming Sports Trading Cards in this lot. These trading cards are from a series of (48) different sports trading cards. The set has (24) different sports with a “yesterday” card of the sport in earlier days, and a “today” card from the 1940s or 1950s. The set was made with both rounded corners and with square corners, so there are actually two sets of the same card images that were made. The set also had an advertising mail away premium book album. The album has colorful old advertising for both Cracker Jack, and Lowney’s with designated spaces to place all (48) of the cards in the set.

These cards were once in 1940s or 1950s boxes of Canadian Cracker Jack from the Walter M. Lowney Company of Montreal, Canada when they were under contract with Cracker Jack in Chicago to manufacture and distribute their product outside of the United States.

The trading cards have a colorful sports scene with single or team players in action on the front. On the back there is a number, the series name, the sport name, whether it was a “yesterday” or a “today” card, a paragraph of History, and credits below. Besides the paragraph these cards are marked as follows:

(number - sport name – yesterday or today - corner type)
No. 27 – SWIMMING – YESTERDAY – Square Corners
No. 28 – SWIMMING – TODAY – Square Corners

SPORT – YESTERDAY AND TODAY
FOURTY-EIGHT CARDS TO THE SERIES
(number) – (sport) – (yesterday or today)
(yesterday or today card number that goes with this card)

Both of these for one price! The trading cards each measure about 3'' x 2-1/2''. We are not card graders here, but to us they appear to range from good to very good condition as pictured. Both of these have some light wear and bumped corners. The Yesterday card also has a light top right corner crease.
