The picture shows a view of this Colorful 1940 Downtown Greenville Mississippi Linen Post Card. This postcard was postmarked from Greenville, Mississippi on August 1, 1940. There is a brown 1-1/2 cent Martha Washington postage stamp. The postcard has a neatly written message on the back about playing cards and it was mailed to a Gardiner, Maine address.

The card pictures a Greenville Mississippi downtown scene with buildings, old automobiles, lamp posts, awnings, the street, a few people, and old advertising signs. Some of the old signs can be read such as ''DRINK COCA-COLA - DELCIOUS AND REFRESHING'', ''JOSEPHS PHARMACY, INC.'', ''MAYERS READY TO WEAR'', ''F. W. WOOLWORTH CO. FIVE & TEN CENT STORE'', ''DRUG'', ''NO PARKING'', ''WESTERN UNION'', ''SHLITZ BEER'', ''GIFT SHOP'', ''HOTEL REST ???'', and more. It is marked on the front and back as follows:
