The picture shows a view of the cover of this Old Chicago Bismarck Hotel Advertising Bier Stube Souvenir Song Folder. The folder is not dated but it is old. Apparently this Bavarian ensemble played nightly at the Bismarch Hotel in Chicago and people were given this song sheet to sing along. It has five pages filled with songs in German and some small German or Bavarian images as well. The music was also broadcast on several different radio stations. The folder has an area to fill in on the cover to mail the folder to someone. It has been filled out in pencil with a message to a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania address. The folder was produced by Carl Gorr Printing Company of Chicago. It pictures the Bavarian band and a large beer stein on the cover and it is marked on the cover as follows: SONG FOLDER BIER STUBE BISMARCK HOTEL - CHICAGO HENRI KUBLICK'S ORIGINAL BAVARIAN ENSEMBLE PLAYING NIGHTLY AT THE BIERSTUBE, BISMARCK HOTEL, CHICAGO BROADCASTING WMAQ - WENR - KYW - NBC The closed folder measures 7'' x 11-1/4''. It appears to be in excellent condition with a vertical fold as pictured. |
