The picture below shows a larger view of this Old Massachusetts Children's Hospital Holiday Photograph with Children & Games. The photograph is not dated but judging by the games and other items in it we believe that it is from the early 1970s. In the photo there are (6) women, (1) man, and (4) young boys. The scene appears to be at a Boston or Massachusetts Children's Hospital. Two of the boys are in old wooden wheelchairs. The adults on the left are American Legion members. They are wearing their Massachusetts uniform hats with pins. Those on the right are most likely members of a fraternal organization. A few badges or pins can be seen on a few of the women. Apparently the volunteer groups were having a Halloween party for the children and donating games for them. The room is decorated with a hanging scarecrow, and there are pumpkins, napkins, small candy baskets, and what appears to be old Coca-Cola paper cups on the table. The boxed games being donated include: OH NUTS!, EYE WITNESS, JEOPARDY, THE MATCH GAME, CHIPS ARE DOWN, and more. One woman is putting a toy ''Fire Chief'' Fireman helmet on the boy in the center. The American Legion woman behind him is wearing an American flag pin. There is an old time television set on a shelf. There are many details that can be seen in the old photograph. The old photograph measures 10'' x 8''. It appears to be in excellent condition as pictured. There are some wrinkles, a few tiny edge tears and a few small cracks. |
